Three Wheel Gala: a free Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin alternative
Built like the slot in the title: a 3-4-5-4-3 diamond of reels with 720 ways that pay from both ends, small wheels, and a bonus where envelopes set the pointers on three wheels. Played with chips that are worth nothing, with the machine's real numbers and a session coach beside it.

Gambling is entertainment with a price, like a concert ticket. The useful question is not how much you might win but how much the evening is allowed to cost. Pick that number first, and treat reaching it as the end of the session. You can set one below and the coach will hold you to it.

Chips per way at a bet of 50. A symbol pays for three, four or five reels in a row from reel 1 or from reel 5, on any rows. Two of it on one reel doubles the ways, three trebles them. Each symbol is paid once a spin, and five in a row is one win. The dimmer figures are smaller than the bet: one way of those costs more than it returns.
- Wild. Reels 2, 3 and 4. Stands in for every paying symbol, not for a Pinwheel or a Gala symbol.
- Pinwheel. Any reel, one at most per reel. 3 or more each turn into a small wheel.
- Gala. Reels 2, 3 and 4, up to two per reel. 3 or more bring down the three wheels, with one pick each.
What is on the wheels

The 12 envelopes hold 4 brass, 4 emerald and 4 ivory pointers. A wheel takes 3 pointers, a third of a turn apart. A fourth pays 50 (brass), 150 (emerald) or 100 (ivory) instead. The bonus pays the brass and emerald values plus those amounts, times the ivory values added together. Up to 6 picks.

Three wheels, and picks that are not choices
Three Wheel Gala is our own slot machine, built to play the way IGT's multi-wheel bonus slot plays.
Five reels show 3, 4, 5, 4 and 3 symbols, which gives 720 ways, and they pay from the left and from the right. Wilds and bonus symbols sit on the three middle reels. 3 scatter symbols turn into small wheels. 3 or more bonus symbols bring down three large wheels: you open one of the 12 envelopes for each bonus symbol, each envelope lights a pointer on one of the wheels, and then all three spin once. There are no free spins, here or there. The name, the 1920s ballroom, the symbols, the sound, the reel strips, the wheel values and the pay table are ours.
From reel 1 and from reel 5
3 × 4 × 5 × 4 × 3equals720 ways
Every spin plays all 720. Wilds and Gala symbols land on the gold reels only, 2 to 4. A symbol is paid once a spin: five reels in a row is one win, not one from each end.
What is different from any real machine is everything a real machine leaves out.
This one returns 96.17% of the chips bet on it and keeps 3.83%, counted from reel strips and wheels that are printed on this page and in the code it runs. 47.4% of spins pay something, and 68% of those pay less than the spin cost, so only 15.0% of spins leave you with more chips than before. The three wheels come down about once in 86 spins and carry 29% of everything the machine pays back.

There is no decision in a slot to get better at, and that includes the envelopes: the pointers are shuffled into an order when the bonus starts and each pick shows the next one.
What this page is for is entertainment, and seeing clearly what this kind of machine does: how often it pays, how it dresses up a small payout, how a pick can look like a choice, and what a session of it costs on average.

- Five reels that show 3, 4, 5, 4 and 3 symbols, which makes 720 ways. Every spin plays all of them and costs 50 coins, at a bet of 50, 100, 250 or 500 chips, so a coin is worth 1, 2, 5 or 10 chips.
- A symbol pays for three, four or five reels in a row, counted from reel 1 and, separately, from reel 5. It does not matter which rows the symbols are on.
- More than one of the symbol on a reel multiplies the award: two on one reel doubles the ways through it, and two on each of three reels makes eight ways.
- Each symbol is paid once a spin. Five reels in a row is one win on all its ways, not one win from each end.
- There are nine paying symbols. Chandelier is the highest: five reels in a row pays 500 coins a way. Bow Tie is the lowest: three reels pays 1 coin a way, which at a bet of 50 is 1 chip back on a 50 chip spin.
- The wild appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. It stands in for every paying symbol, and not for a Pinwheel or a Gala symbol.
- The Pinwheel can land on any reel, one at most per reel. 3 or more each turn into a small wheel, each reel with its own, and what the wheels stop on is added up and paid on top of the ways.
- The Gala symbol appears on reels 2, 3 and 4, up to two on a reel. 3 or more anywhere on those reels start the three-wheel bonus, with one envelope pick for each Gala symbol, so 3 to 6 picks.
- There are 12 envelopes: 4 hold a pointer for the brass wheel, 4 for the emerald wheel and 4 for the ivory wheel. They are shuffled into an order when the bonus starts, and each envelope you open shows the next one in that order, whichever envelope it is.
- A wheel takes at most 3 pointers. A fourth pointer for a wheel that is full pays a fixed 50 coins (brass), 150 coins (emerald) or 100 coins (ivory) instead.
- If no ivory pointer is picked, the ivory wheel's center pointer is lit anyway. If only ivory pointers are picked, the emerald wheel's center pointer is lit.
- Then all three wheels spin once. The bonus pays the brass and emerald values under lit pointers, plus any fixed amounts, multiplied by the ivory values under lit pointers added together.
- There are no free spins. The whole round, envelope order and wheel stops included, is decided when Spin is pressed. The animation plays it back and cannot change it.
- Autoplay plays 10, 25, 50 or 100 spins at the current bet. It needs a loss limit before it starts, and it stops at that limit, when the three-wheel bonus begins, when the spins run out, or when you stop it. The small wheels play through. The three-wheel bonus always stops it, because the envelopes are yours to open.
Sound starts on, and the Sound button switches it off.

FAQ
- Is this slot played for real money?
- No. The table uses play chips that have no value, cannot be bought, and cannot be cashed out or exchanged for anything. If you run out, you are handed another stack for free. There is no account and nothing to download.
- What is the RTP of Three Wheel Gala?
- 96.17%. That is the share of all chips bet that the machine pays back over every possible result, so it keeps 3.83%. It is counted from the reel strips, the envelopes and the wheels, not sampled. At the smallest bet of 50 chips that works out at about 192 chips per 100 spins on average, with wide swings around it in any one session.
- How often does it pay?
- 47.4% of spins pay something, about 1 in 2. But 32.1% of spins pay less than the bet, which is a net loss that looks like a win. Only 15.0% of spins, about 1 in 7, pay more than they cost. The small wheels start on about 1 spin in 64 and the three-wheel bonus on about 1 in 86.
- Is Three Wheel Gala a free alternative to Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin?
- Yes. It is built like Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin: reels that show 3, 4, 5, 4 and 3 symbols, 720 ways that pay in both directions, wilds and bonus symbols on the middle three reels, a small-wheel bonus from three scatters, and a bonus with 12 envelopes whose pointers decide what three wheels pay. It is free, it needs no account, and it is played with chips that have no value. It is not Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin itself, which is IGT's game, and it is not licensed by, endorsed by or affiliated with IGT or the owners of the Wheel of Fortune name.
- How is it different from Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin?
- The mechanic is the same family and everything else is our own: the name, the ballroom setting, the symbols, the sound, the reel strips, the wheel values and the pay table. It has nothing of the television show in it. So the numbers are different too. Three Wheel Gala returns 96.17% with a 47.4% hit rate, and those are this machine's figures only. They say nothing about the original's. The other difference is what sits beside the reels: every wheel's slices printed, the exact figures, a status line that calls a payout smaller than the bet a loss, and a session coach.
- Does it matter which envelopes I open?
- No. The 12 pointers are shuffled into an order the moment the bonus starts, and each envelope you open shows the next pointer in that order, whichever envelope you tap. The three wheel stops are drawn at the same moment. The pick is a reveal, not a choice, and no way of choosing changes what the bonus pays.
- Are the slices on the wheels equally likely?
- On this machine, yes. Each large wheel has 12 slices of the same width and each small wheel has 8, every stopping position is equally likely, and every slice is printed in the panel under the machine. The emerald wheel's largest slice, 1500 coins, is one slice in 12, and its smallest, 40 coins, appears on 3. A wheel on a real machine does not have to work this way: a drawn wheel can land on its large slices as rarely as its maker likes, so its look says nothing about its odds unless the rules say so.
- Where does the return come from?
- 63% of what the machine pays back comes from the ways, 8% from the small wheels and 29% from the three-wheel bonus. That bonus starts about once in 86 spins and pays 24.0 bets on average, but 53% of the time it pays under ten bets. Most of the machine's top end sits in a round that a short session often never sees.
- What is the most a spin can pay?
- 703 times the bet, to the nearest bet. There is no cap: that is the largest total the strips and wheels can produce. It is the three-wheel bonus at its best, with a small ways win on the same screen, and it takes 6 picks that fall as three emerald and three ivory pointers and both of those wheels stopping on their best position. A round that pays 100 times the bet or more comes up about once in 1,599 spins.
- Does autoplay change the odds?
- No. Every spin is drawn the same way and the return stays 96.17%. What it changes is speed: more spins fit into an hour, and the cost of an hour is the number of spins times the 3.83% the machine keeps on each. That is why autoplay here will not start without a loss limit, and why it hands the three-wheel bonus back to you instead of playing it.
- Can I tell when the wheels are coming?
- No. Each reel stops on its own, every stop on a strip is equally likely, and a spin starts from nothing. Two Gala symbols with no third is not a sign of anything: it takes 3, and a screen with two pays exactly what its ways pay. A run of spins without a bonus does not make one due.
How this game works
Each reel is a fixed strip of symbols, 42, 77, 78, 77, 42 symbols long from reel 1 to reel 5. A spin picks one stop on each strip with your browser's random number generator, every stop equally likely, and the 3, 4, 5, 4 and 3 symbols from that stop down are what shows. There are 815,782,968 ways the five reels can stop. A small wheel is one draw of 8 equal slices. The envelopes are a shuffle of 12 known pointers, and each large wheel is one draw of 12 equal slices. Nothing else decides a result.
The 96.17% return is counted, not simulated. Every one of those reel combinations is priced against the pay table and sorted by which bonus it starts. Each group is then joined to the exact distribution of that bonus: every split of the picks between the three colors, weighted by how many ways the shuffle deals it, against every one of the 1,728 ways the three wheels can stop. An automated test repeats the count of the screens one combination at a time on a smaller machine through the same code the machine plays with, counts the bonus a second way card by card, recounts the ways return symbol by symbol, and compares the result with a seeded run of 600,000 spins of the engine itself. The house edge on the common casino bets puts the 3.83% this machine keeps in context.
From that distribution: 47.4% of spins pay anything, 32.1% pay something smaller than the bet, and 15.0% pay more than the bet. The spread of one spin's result has a standard deviation of 6.41 bets, which is the size of the swings around the average. The ways return 63% of the total, the small wheels 8% (about 1 spin in 64, 5.0 bets on average) and the three-wheel bonus 29% (about 1 spin in 86, 24.0 bets on average). 53% of three-wheel bonuses start with exactly 3 picks. The largest possible round is 703 times the bet, and there is no jackpot.
The expected figure in the session panel is the share the machine keeps multiplied by the chips you have bet on finished spins. The coach's count of spins in the last minute is taken from when you pressed Spin.
Limits
- The reel strips, wheel values, envelope contents and pay table were designed for this page. They are not a copy of Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin or of any other real machine, and these figures describe this machine only.
- Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin is IGT's game. The Wheel of Fortune name belongs to its owners. Three Wheel Gala is an independent alternative built on the same kind of mechanic, and it is not licensed by, endorsed by or affiliated with IGT or the owners of that name or of the television show.
- This machine gives 3 to 6 picks and uses its own wheel values and its own amounts for a fourth pointer. Those are this page's design, not a statement about any other game.
- A real slot is usually shipped in several return settings and the casino chooses one. The same title can keep noticeably more than the figure quoted for it, and a real machine does not print its reel strips or the odds of its wheel slices.
- The reels, envelopes and wheels are decided by an ordinary browser random number generator. It is not an audited or certified generator, and nothing here should be read as a test of one.
- Autoplay is here because the machine this one is modeled on has it. It makes a machine cost more per hour, so it will not start without a loss limit, and the coach prices the pace while it runs. There is no turbo mode: the sources we checked do not show that the original has one, so it is left out.
- Play chips do not feel like money. A long run without a bonus is harder to sit through, and to stop after, with a real stake.
This is a practice game for adults. It has no real-money play and links to none. A slot with a wheel bonus, played with money, keeps its share of every spin, and no way of timing the spins or choosing the envelopes changes that. On this machine 68% of the spins that pay anything still cost more than they return.
